The positives and negatives of owning pets!
Some of us were at choir! I was super impressed with both teams collaboration and team work. They used their key competencies well. We voted that the team that argued for us not to own pets produced the best reasonings! They also spoke clearer and the positive team acknowledged that they did need to talk louder and slower!

These drinks should only be treats as they have too much sugar! The most sugar is in the orange fizzy with the least sugar in the coconut water. Children should never have energy drinks either. These drinks rot teeth and cause many illnesses like diabetes.

24/08/17 Making bread
Today, using a bread maker we made white bread. We know that healthy bread has grains in it, we used a basic recipe without grains. It took 3 hours to cook. It smelt and tasted delicious.
We also learned about the science of yeast- the balloon photos. The pink balloon had 1 teaspoon of sugar. The green balloon had 2 teaspoons of sugar while the yellow balloon had 3 teaspoons of sugar. The more sugar created more carbon dioxide which is why the yellow balloon inflated the most.
10/08/17 Masterchefs in action!
Today we were making pikelets with help from Whaea Marta. The students used excellent table manners when they ate! We also had a senses challenge where we had to smell and look at 15 spices and sauces and try to identify each one. Some proved challenging.

Science Investigations- Up,Up and Away!- 2nd March 2017
We were learning about flight, as flight was one thing that Leonardo da Vinci wanted to achieve before he died. We had to investigate which wing design worked the best. We had four designs to investigate. Jacob and Kavin concluded that the triangular shaped wing worked the best because the shape was slanted therefore it was more aerodynamic. The iMovie below was created by Mizyrah.
